Brussels Christmas markets with lowcostholidays.com
The Brussels Christmas Market, or ‘Winter Wonderland’ as it’s sometimes known, is held for a month from the 26th November in Place Saint Catherine and offers over 200 stall chalets selling a wide variety of things from all over Europe including arts and crafts, Belgian beer and wine, Christmas decorations, fresh seafood, gingerbread, Belgian waffles, fries and hot dogs and of course, Belgian chocolate. The giant, brightly-lit Christmas tree and huge decorations on the Town Hall and nearby buildings create a beautiful festive atmosphere and the 60 metre ice rink in the centre of the market provides fun for all the family! There’s even a small toddlers’ ice rink so nobody’s left out!
The variety and quality of items on offer at Winter Wonderland mean you’ll be able to find presents for all your family and friends – even the fussy ones – and you could treat yourself to a few Christmas goodies such as mulled wine, Christmas tree decorations and chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!
You can hop over the channel for a day trip to Brussels on the Eurostar as return journeys are frequent but why not stay for a few nights and make the most of this great city? Enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling city, visit the museums and historic buildings and point your other half in the direction of the Diamond Museum and keep your fingers crossed for Christmas Day!
