Borovets is one of Bulgaria’s oldest and largest ski resorts and is situated in the eastern part of the Sofia region of Bulgaria, 1390m above sea level on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain. The resort sees snowfall between December and April and has an average temperature of 4.8C in January, its coldest month. Skiing in Borovets
Originally created as a hunting ground for the Kings of Bulgaria, Borovets has been home to some of eastern Europe’s finest ski slopes since 1896, offering a good mix of budget friendly accommodation and luxury hotels and villas.
