You'll Love Big White if...
- You want to ski from right outside your door. No matter where you stay you can jump straight out of bed on to the slopes at this ski-in/ski-out resort.
- You want to get on the next piste quickly. With the new 6 passenger chair lift, the ‘Snow Ghost Express’, you won’t be standing in queues all day but whizzing down to the next lift in no time.
- You want to take all the family skiing. Beginner children and adults will benefit from the reputable ski school and long easy runs, leaving time for the experts to dash off to more challenging slopes. If you want to improve your moves why not take a class in cross-country or performance skiing.
- You want to explore the off-piste sites. The TELUS terrain-park offers rails, jumps and a 500 ft long super-pipe for experienced skiers.
- You want big, wide, open spaces to make your graceful on-slope moves.
- You want some great places to dine. With 18 on-mountain restaurants and cafes to choose from you can have a quick luscious lunch or relax with a beer at the end of the day.
Big White Highlights
- Take the ‘Around the World Route’ from the top of the T-bar to the bottom of Gem Lake and appreciate 4.5 miles of uninterrupted slope, the longest in the resort.
- When is the best time to visit? The resort is open for winter activities from mid-November to mid-April and you can get some great cheap deals at the end of season.
- If you want to try something different head to one of the Nordic trails. There are 25 km for you to try out dog-sled and cross-country skiing.
- For an after skiing activity you can go ice skating on the Olympic Hockey rink in Happy Valley.
- If you can’t drag yourself off the slope then don’t worry, just go night skiing! The Plaza Chair and the Bullet High Speed Chair are open until 8 pm and on the weekend you can enjoy night skiing at the TELUS Park, lit up by bright lights so you won’t end up crashing into anyone.
