Whether you’re here to discover the stretch of sandy beaches found in Stanley Park or the annual dusting of snow on the majestic mountains, you’re sure to fall in love with holidays to Vancouver.

Abundant in natural beauty and renowned for its striking landscape, this Canadian gem is a must-visit – from its thriving local art scene and exceptional culinary offerings to its hip neighbourhood hotspots. Jog, bike or walk your way through the national parks, take in a game of hockey or indulge in some of the tastiest dishes this region has to offer – you’ll love the diversity and variety of Canada that comes with embarking on your Vancouver holidays.

Streets and Beaches

Regularly voted as one of the best cities in the world to live in, this vibrant area has much to boast about. The city of Vancouver is split into three, comprising of the Westside, Eastside and city centre – with each part as diverse as the last. The buzzing city centre is a hotspot for anyone on their holidays to Vancouver, with a multitude of accommodation options – from 5-star luxury to comfortable hotels within walking distance to top city attractions.

If you’d rather head to a quieter spot in the city, pay a visit to the beautiful setting of Stanley Park and the West End. One of the most popular places to be on your holidays, this area boasts glorious sandy beaches to revel in, as well as plenty of little shops and eateries.

Parks and Mountains

If you want to explore the city by foot on your holidays to Vancouver, the harbour is an excellent place to start, where you can admire the city’s skyline set against the dramatic Rocky Mountains. Head to Stanley Park, where you can walk, jog or rollerblade along the seawall, visit the aquarium or admire historical landmarks.

Keen shopaholics will be in their element here, with the Pacific Centre allowing you to escape the elements with its underground mall and the quaint area of Gastown hosting a myriad of independent boutiques and shopping opportunities. Culture vultures should pay a visit to Granville Island to take in the thriving arts scene while September sees the arrival of the annual International Film Festival. In the summer months, time your holidays to Vancouver with the Celebration of Light festival, taking in the spectacular firework displays that light up the city’s skyline.

Of course, despite this veritable urban playground, you’ll still find plenty of beaches in Vancouver. Compete in a game of volleyball, skim board along the Pacific coast of simply linger over drinks while you watch the sun go down over the ever popular Sunset Beach.

If you’d rather take your trip in the winter months, you’ll be greeted with an exceptional winter wonderland. Dustings of snow on the Canadian Rockies, alpine scenery that wouldn’t look out of place on a postcard and a wide variety of snow-sports to engage in for adrenaline junkies are the order of the day. Vancouver is the gateway to the Whistler Blackcomb Mountains where you can enjoy skiing and boarding in this beautiful mountain paradise in British Columbia.
