When is the best time to go?

Antigua and Long Bay are blessed with 365 days of sunshine a year, and with an average daytime temperature of 27oC anytime of year is a great time to be in Long Bay. However if travelling between July to November make sure to check the forecast as hurricanes are not uncommon at this time of year.

Spectacular days out

Drag yourself away from the beach and head to Devil’s Bridge National Park, once you’ve reached the lookout point prepare to have your breath taken away with the stunning views over Long Bay.

Hidden gems

Wander along the harbour front and take in the sights, sounds and smells. If you have time simply dangle your feet over the harbour wall into the sea and lookout for the brightly coloured fish swimming below.

How’s the shopping?

You won’t find much apart from a few local stalls selling locally produced goods. Don’t worry though it’s only a short trip to the vibrant capital of St. Johns where you can shop to your hearts content.

  • Its best to avoid the tap water, nearly every establishment in Long Bay sells bottled water so don’t worry
  • A 10% service charge is usually added to the bill in restaurants, whereas taxi drivers will expect a 5% tip on set fares, a tip of $1 per bag is polite for hotel porters
  • Don’t forget to stock up on sun cream to avoid getting burnt while on the beach
