When is the best time to go?

Anytime of year is a great time to visit Valley Church, the average temperature is 27oC but during the summer months (December to April) temperatures regularly top the 35oC mark. If visiting between July to November be sure to check the forecast before you travel as this time of year is traditionally hurricane season.

Spectacular days out

Only 12km away is the vibrant capital of St. Johns. Check out the local market every Friday and Saturday morning for a taste of authentic Antigua or head to Fort James for stunning views over the surrounding area

Hidden gems

Valley Church is one of the smaller and more exclusive resorts in Antigua. The beach at Valley Church is definitely a highlight and a lot less busy than ones in the larger resorts. Spend your days relaxing on the golden sand, watching the local fisherman ply their trade and swimming in the crystal clear waters.

How’s the shopping?

You won’t find much apart from a few local stalls selling locally produced goods. Don’t worry though it’s only a short trip to the malls and designer boutiques of St. Johns.

• Being a former British colony the culture and etiquette isn’t to different from here in dear old Blighty, just be sure to pack a friendly smile and your manners!
• Its best to avoid the tap water, nearly everywhere in Valley Church sells bottled water so don’t worry
• A 10% service charge is usually added to the bill in restaurants, whereas taxi drivers will expect a 5% tip on set fares, a tip of $1 per bag is polite for hotel porters
• Don’t forget to stock up on sun cream to avoid getting burnt while on the beach
