For whatever reason you’re in Hastings be it a family holiday or a romantic getaway it’s always useful to know the ins and outs of where you’re travelling to. To avoid those awkward cultural faux pas read our insider tips for Hastings, Barbados.
Hastings has over 8 hours of sunshine year round, perfect weather for relaxing on Hastings exotic beach. The wet season is from July to November and during this time tropical storms and hurricanes are not uncommon. Always check the forecast before you decide to visit if you plan on travelling during the wet season.
Be sure to visit the Graeme Hall nature sanctuary, a short journey from Hastings. The last remaining mangrove swamp in Barbados, the sanctuary’s highlights include endangered egrets and thousands of scuttling fiddler crabs among others.
Although most tourists will be drawn to the glitz and glamour of St. Lawrence Gap the smaller resort (and province capital!) of Oistins is a great place to visit. Oistins holds ‘fish fry’ parties every Friday night where you can try local dishes and buy locally made arts and crafts. How’s the shopping?
