Whether you want to relax on the beach with the sea lapping at your feet or immerse yourself in the historical culture, St James is the ideal destination for your next holiday. So what exactly is there to do? Well, that’s where lowcostholidays.com can lend you a helping hand with some insider tips!

When is the best time go?

Although Barbados’ climate is warm at any time of year you choose to visit, there is a hurricane season from the months of June to October and it is sometimes not advised to visit at this time. Humidity during these months can also be high. Lowcostholidays.com would advise to take a trip to St James between the months of December to May, when rainfall is at its lowest.

How do I get around?

In Barbados driving is on the left hand side of the road; this may take a little adjusting to for those of you who live outside of the UK. When approaching a roundabout always give way to the vehicle on the right. If you decide you want to hire a rental car on your trip to St James make sure you don’t forget your driving license

Spectacular Days out

The west coast of Barbados is where you will find the best beaches on the island. St James is unbeatable for its fine white sands, sparkling Caribbean waters, swimming, snorkelling and watersports, so what more could you want on a day out other than to relax and laze away your days under the beaming Caribbean sun.

St James weather

Barbados is very close to the equator so the sun is extremely strong and precautions need to be taken. There’s nothing worse than the pain of bad sunburn, it’s only going to spoil your holiday so make sure you use a high factor sun cream, especially between the hours of 10am and 3pm when the sun is at its strongest. You can still get burnt in the morning and later in the afternoon and overcast days can be very deceiving, so make sure you’re careful on your holiday and avoid the painful experience of sunburn.
