Varadero insider tips

Whether you’re on holiday in Varadero to relax on the wonderful beaches or to experience the city life, lowcostholidays.com insider tips will help you come closer to the break you’re looking for.

When is the best time to go?

You can enjoy Varadero’s great weather all year round, with a pleasant all-year round tropical climate.

Great evenings out

There are a number of very good drinking spots in Varadero. And being in Cuba, you’re going to want to ape Hunter S Thompson in his ‘Rum Diaries’, and sample some of the best the world has to offer at one of the bars. One of the best around is the La Rumba bar, with its bubble machine, and selection of potent and colourful cocktails.

How’s the shopping?

The beach vendors along Varadero beach are your best bet for some Cuban memorabilia, where you can snare Cuban cigars, bongos, bracelets, liquors, and beachwear, all at knock-down prices.

Where can I find some Cuban cuisine?

There are a number of patio bars in Varadero, where you can order fresh Cuban fare at strikingly cheap prices. El Criollo is the pick of the bunch – where you’ll find a great array of seafood, with the favourite dish among many being the lobster tail, at around £9 a go.
