Boca Chica attractions

Planning your cheap holiday to Boca Chica in the Dominican Republic but need some quick tips? lowcostholidays.com can give you some inspiration on what to do and see on and around this beautiful Caribbean island.

Beaches in Boca Chica

The beach at Boca Chica is totally unique. It sits in a cove of about 1 mile long so there’s plenty of space to enjoy the sun and beach activities and is rarely crowded.

Surrounding the cove is a natural reef that acts as a barrier to the great Caribbean Sea. The water is warm and shallow, like a salt-water swimming pool, making it safe and enjoyable to swim in.

Aside from the main beach, there are a few small islands off shore. La Matica lies within the reef and is home to loads of exotic birds.

Boca Chica Activities

A great attraction to Boca Chica and all over the Dominican Republic is scuba diving. So choose from the many places to rent equipment on the beach and explore the tropical marine life.

If scuba diving is not for you but you love the sea why not try something like banana boating, jet skiing or kayaking. These activities are fun for all the family and available to rent on the beach.

Snorkeling is a great way to experience the calm clear waters of the ocean to make your holiday in Boca Chica even more relaxing. Swim out to the coral reef to see what wonders lie below!

Boca Chica Nightlife

Check out the main strip of restaurants and bars, Calle Duarte, for a meal before midnight.

If you are out after midnight and fancy some fun then this main street, blocked off and only for pedestrians at night, is the place to be. There are many outside bars where locals and tourists come to meet alike.

For dancing and drinking there are a few local clubs such as Cosmos where they play a mixture of merengue and house music.

For a meal away from the crowds there are plenty of places to eat along the beach front or further into town.
