The hottest time of the year is August, with most tourists visiting June – September. If you fancy a quieter time, there is still plenty of sun and fun to be had out of the main holiday season, in late April and late September. The weather forecast in the Dominican Republic is invariably sunny, perhaps with cloud and the odd 5-minute shower, all year round!
This lively beach is full of activities for all the family. If you want to relax in the sun and totally unwind you can get a massage from a local lady right on the beach. This is one of the most popular beaches on the north coast of the island, with good reason. The sea is warm and great for water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, boating and kayaking. There are some coral reefs which you can enjoy snorkeling or swimming around, experiencing the beautiful tropical underwater world.
If you’re into scuba diving you can visit the nearby Luperon Beach where there are deep waters to explore.

The official language is Spanish. A few phrases are always useful and polite but English is widely spoken, especially in all-inclusive resorts.
The sun shines all year round here so be sure to use plenty of sun cream. There are frequently rain showers but very rarely to they last more than 5 minutes! Locals own umbrellas but not raincoats.
The currency is the Dominican peso (RD$) but many places take US $.
It’s best to stick to bottled water here, just to be on the safe side.
