Overview
The Dreams Punta Cana Hotel (formerly Sunscape The Beach) is in a beautiful beachfront setting overlooking the Caribbean Sea on the Dominican Republic. The hotel is 15 miles north of Punta Cana, approximately 30 minutes from the airport and only 500 metres from the shops in Uvero Alto. This luxurious resort is made up of nine blocks with 620 guestrooms in total and also boasts one of the largest swimming pools on the island in addition to a host of wining and dining venues to keep even the fussiest of all inclusive guests happy.
Secluded by lush tropical plating and opening out onto one of the Dominican’s best beaches, the Dreams Punta Cana is a superb location from which to enjoy an all inclusive holiday in the Dominican Republic. The hotels main feature is its lagoon style swimming pool which winds its way down from the lobby all the way to the beach and has waterfalls, islands, whirlpools, swim-up bars and palm trees giving it that totally tropical feel.
All of the 620 rooms at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort have air-conditioning with in-room controls and ceiling fan as well as satellite television, a CD and DVD player, an MP3 docking station and a minibar which is replenished daily. All rooms also have a telephone, a coffee maker, ironing facilities, a hairdryer, luxury bathroom products, bathrobes, slippers and private balcony or terrace.
This is a fabulous property to visit with children as there is a kids pool, an Explorers Club for 3 to 12 year olds (open between 9am and 10pm) with a huge playground, pirate's ship waterslide with its own pool, dino-dig, big screen movies on the beach at night, indoor games room, giant TV, mini stage, climbing rock wall, video games, a weekly camp out adventure and a free pony ride. Older children can also enjoy archery, baseball and billiards plus there is an internet centre for teenagers and sports and activities are organised by the entertainment team in the teen sport area along with a teen disco.
Whilst the children are having endless fun, older guests will appreciate the excellent selection of therapies, massages and treatments available in the spa (with extra charge), try their luck at the casino, go horse riding or join in with the daily activities such as beach football, bicycle rides, Spanish classes, dance lessons and yoga. For the energetic or those who have just enjoyed the hospitality at the hotel restaurants and bars a little to much, there is a gym. Guests can also enjoy non motorized water sports on the beach including sailing, windsurfing, boogie boarding and kayaking.
For you all inclusive dining pleasure the Dreams Punta Cana has not only a main restaurant for buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner but also six a la carte restaurants including a Mexican, an Italian, a Japanese, a continental, a seafood and a French restaurant for adults only. There is also a tropical fruit stand and a pizza station for snacks and ten bars for refreshments, all serving premium international drinks. After dark you can check out the indoor theatre for nightly entertainment and don’t miss the weekly manager's cocktail party. There is also a themed night on the beach once a week and a nightclub where you can dance the night away.
Eating and drinking
In addition to an international buffet style restaurant the Dreams Punta Cana also has a seafood restaurant, a steakhouse, a Mexican, an Asian (not suitable for children under six), an Italian and French (adults only) a la carte restaurant. For drinks there are plenty of options including a lobby bar; a pool bar, a swim-up bar, a snack bar; a disco bar, a show bar and a sports bar with satellite television.
