San Juan Holidays

San Juan holiday insider tips

Whether you’re holiday in San Juan to relax on the delightful beaches or to experience this lively Puerto Rican town, lowcostholidays.com insider tips will help you come closer to the break you’re looking for.

When is the best time to go?

  • You can enjoy San Juan’s wonderful temperatures all year round, with an all-year round tropical climate.

Great evenings out

  • You’ll want to make your way, bar by bar, to the Plaza del Mercado, where during the day you’ll find a fresh produce market, but by night an invigorating centre, where you can dance with the locals and aspire to the state of a Latin hip-shaking god/goddess.

How’s the shopping?

  • Plaza las Americas is the place to head to if you’d like to get on with some browsing. It stocks a number of American and local brands and everything is priced very reasonably, with no sales tax, as an added bonus. You can find books, CDs, clothes, cologne – if you need it, it’ll be here.

Where can I find some local food?

  • You’ll want to try Metropol, one of the slightly more upscale eateries in San Juan – where you’ll discover a wealth of Puerto Rican cuisine at reassuringly expensive prices. The meat dishes are to be sought out here, as they are rumoured to be among some of the best in the region.
