When is the best time to go?

High season for Frigate holidays is December through to February, and you’ll be able to enjoy the legendary Carnival. If you want a quieter, cheaper holiday your best bet is visit from June to August, though you will be staying during hurricane season!

There’s not a lot of shopping in Frigate as it’s mostly a tourist area – you’re better off heading to Basseterre and hitting up the markets there!

Tap water is generally safe to drink, but you may want to drink bottled water to be on the safe side.

Shall I pack the sun cream/anorak?

If you’re visiting from June to November, hurricane season, you’ll need both! Any other time of year, sun cream is highly advised unless you intend to disguise yourself as a tomato.

How do I get around?

Taxis are incredibly cheap and are a pretty safe way to get around.

Shall I learn the local lingo?

The official language of St Kitts and Nevis is English, so no!
