When is the best time to go:
Trinidad and Tobago mostly have amazing all year round temperatures. From January to May the islands are dry whilst from May to December, the islands experience its wet season. A lot of tourists still visit in the wet season, but be aware that some tours and restaurants close. The Carnival, a popular festival throughout the Caribbean, takes place in February and is full of music, dance, singing, and costumes.
Spectacular days out:
The Rainbow Falls is an extremely beautiful natural cascade of water, although this is certainly not one of the easiest attractions to reach, it’s well worth it. This is a very quiet and enchanting spot, and the falls are around 100 metres high, with water falling down a rocky route and splashing into the Goldsborough River beneath, the mist often creates rainbows - hence the name. If it is a particularly hot day on Tobago, then what better place to cool down that the inviting river itself. A restaurant is conveniently close by, should you feel a little peckish.
How’s the shopping:
There are a few local shops in Black Rock, but the shopping scene on the Caribbean island very much revolves around its capital of Scarborough and the neighbouring tourist resort of Crown Point. The Scarborough Mall is extremely popular on Tobago and well worth searching out. It is open throughout the week, being at its busiest at the weekends, and is a good place to pick up gifts such as leather sandals and bags, carved coconuts and shells, straw baskets, and various other locally made handicrafts.
There are great local markets at the weekends where you can pick up some great local products and gifts.
Where shall I eat:
The cuisine of Tobago is likely to be a highlight of any holiday, and those dining out at restaurants and eateries on the island will find a distinctive Creole/Caribbean flavour present. There are a few choices nearby to Black Rock including; The Fish Pot which is located in Pleasant Prospect, the cuisine always delicious. The Pavilion Restaurant has a lovely setting overlooking Stonehaven Bay serving excellent international cuisine and wine. The Seahorse Inn was once regarded as the 'best' restaurant on the island and offers a romantic beachside setting.

Yes, the tap water in Black Rock is safe to drink, although most visitors prefer bottled, just in case.

Shall I pack the sun cream/anorak?
Tobago is very hot, especially in the summer; you should make sure that you pack lots of high factor sun creams and sun block and hats for children.
How do I get around?
The best way to get around Black Rock is by one of the many taxis or you could rent a car but the costs could add up. Other ways to travel around the island are by motorbike/scooter (but make sure you wear a helmet) or take a leisurely bicycle ride and explore at your own pace.

It is usual to tip approximately 10% of your bill
