BEACHES

Croatia's main tourist attraction has always been its
beaches. The Adriatic coast and islands are lined with
amazing beaches, abounding in natural harbours, with its
countless bays, ports and marinas. The coastline offers
some of Europes most beautiful and safest beaches.
Naturist beaches are a popular feature in Croatia. The
beaches along Bulgarias Black Sea coastline all face
east ensuring a great view of the sunrise if you are up
early enough. The waters of the Black Sea are calm and
without strong tides, making them ideal for children and
the coastline stretches for nearly 300 miles. Bulgarias
beaches are said to be similar to those of its nearby
neighbour, Greece.
SHOPPING

Both Croatia and Bulgaria have an excellent choice of
souvenirs to purchase. Shopping in Croatia tends to be
more expensive than it is in Britain, but the quality of
goods tends to be excellent. Certainly you should be
prepared to spend more on food whilst in Croatia. There
are many department stores for general shopping and
supermarkets for food shopping with boutiques, jewellery
shops and souvenir shops in the centre of all major
cities. Markets are very popular, selling fresh fruit
and vegetables and traditional handicrafts at very
reasonable prices. Souvenirs Traditional handicrafts
like embroidery, woodcarvings and ceramics make good
souvenirs and can be found in shops and local markets
throughout Croatia. Bulgaria has recently had an influx
of new and modern shops which has made shopping a more
pleasant all round experience. Many of the big Western
names in clothes, shoes, cosmetics and electronic goods
can be found and Bulgarian products such as textiles,
wood, ceramic and leather products still represent good
value for money.
NIGHTLIFE

Nightlife can vary in Croatia and you will find anything
from small family run wine bars to pubs, clubs and all
night beach parties. Eating out is delicious and
inexpensive with a huge variety of cuisine to enjoy.
Seafood features on most menus and the wine growing
regions produce some great red and white wines to
accompany meals. Dubrovnik features nightclubs as good
as anywhere in the world. Bulgarian nightlife is
similar; you can party from dusk till dawn if you wish.
There are plenty of clubs, a casino and many
restaurants. Bulgarian nightclubs range from traditional
taverns with Bulgarian folk-music, to loud, and
knocking, discos playing the latest European and
American dance tunes. The big centres like Sophia, Varna
and Bourgas offer the widest range of bars, nightclubs
and casinos. Most bars and cafes stay open until
midnight although there are also numerous bars which
operate until 4 or 5am and even 24 hours a day. The
