RESORTS

Lowcostholidays.com features all the popular
destinations in Cyprus.
Ayia Napa an internationally famous resort, popular
with younger visitors as it offers a clubbing and
nightlife scene to rival Ibiza. It attractions top DJs
from around the world during the summer months and also
has some of Cypruss finest beaches. Larnaca the ideal
location for combining a beach holiday in a lively yet
historic town with an authentic Cypriot way of life.
Holidays are relaxed and easy going with a large
promenade and a wide sandy beach. Limassol a large,
cosmopolitan town and popular beach resort with plenty
of traditional tavernas, local shops, a colourful
market, an attractive marina and seafront promenade.
Paphos a particular favourite with British families
combining a modern beach resort with an interesting old
town and harbour. There are several great beaches,
excellent watersports, romantic cafes and tavernas,
interesting local shops and plenty of other
entertainment including a waterpark and an aquarium.
Polis one of the quietest and least developed resorts
with plenty of character. There is a sandy beach with
superb swimming and the surrounding area consists of
green farmland, citrus groves, vineyards and rugged
mountains. Protarus four and a half miles of excellent
beaches and coves, safe for families, and with plenty of
facilities and entertainment. Watersports include
paragliding, windsurfing, diving, snorkelling, jet-skis
and waterskiing whilst children will enjoy the local
water park and the much larger Water World at nearby
Ayia Napa.
BEACHES

In 2006 the International Blue Flag Jury awarded the
Blue Flag to 49 beaches in 13 coastal communities and
municipalities of Cyprus. The Ayia Napa coastline offers
some of the finest beaches in Cyprus with extensive
golden, sandy beaches covering the area. All the beaches
of Ayia Napa have facilities including water-skiing,
windsurfing, sailing canoes, pedals, motor boots,
scooters, speedboats, parachutes, scuba diving and more.
Visitors to Larnacas beaches wont have to look too far
for a quiet section as they extend for some 15 miles or
so. There are several Limassol beaches with good safe
conditions for swimming. Dassoudi beach is the main
Limassol beach and has dark sand and plenty of
watersports. Other beaches in the area include Armonia
beach and Governors beach and for something a little
quieter head for Ladys Mile beach to the west of
Limassol harbour or Curium beach. There are several
beaches and plenty of pleasant coves to explore in
Paphos however the most popular is Coral Bay situated
approximately 5 miles outside the centre of the resort.
The sandy beach in Polis is a 10 minute walk from the
town and is excellent for swimming with clear safe
water. There are numerous small coves in the region and
isolated beaches like Kato Pyrgos and Lara beach, a
nesting ground for turtles. Last but not least are the
stunning beaches of Protarus including the famous Fig
Tree Bay, although this is not the only great beach in
the area.
SHOPPING

Shopping in Cyprus is pleasant experience and the is a
varied selection of goods to purchase from hand made
craft souvenirs, local bargains including contact
lenses, frames and other optical items, and even chic
designer items from some of the larger resorts. Pottery,
basket weaving, lace making, wood carving, leather and
metal work are all popular local crafts.
NIGHTLIFE

Best described as having something for everyone. The
young and lively will head for the clubbing Mecca that
is Ayia Napa whilst the majority of other resorts have a
good selection of bars and restaurants, some lively and
some quiet, so you can usually find something to match
your mood.
