- The 17-story, 8-sided ‘flowering pagoda’ of the Liurong Temple is a sight to behold. Also known as the ‘Temple of Six Banyan Trees’, it dates from the 6th century.
- Shamian Island is the architectural legacy of former British and French colonies of the 19th century. The buildings and avenues have recently been carefully renovated, providing an oasis of tranquility and antiquity.
- Spot native rare flowers and trees in the Yuntai Gardens.
- Climb to the top of Canton tower, the tallest structure in China, for fantastic birds-eye views of Guangzhou. Eat in one of the tower’s many sky restaurants, and catch a movie in the 4D cinema.
- Take the kids, and big kids, to Chimelong Paradise for rides and shows. Then hop over to Chimelong water park for water ride fun.
- Hike up Baiyun, or White Cloud, mountain for beautiful hillside views of Guangzhou. If that’s too strenuous, take a tram and stop off at cafes along the way.
- Admire Guangzhou by night on the Pearl River night cruise. The deluxe cruises even offer a mouth-watering buffet of local cuisine.
