Copenhagen is the cool cosmopolitan capital of Denmark, full of life and charm. Its size makes it manageable and it is extremely safe with lots of cheap hotels to choose from. The waterfront has many new and exciting restaurants but the atmosphere is always relaxed. Copenhagen on Denmark’s mainland is much more than The Little Mermaid and the Amalienborg Palace and we recommend it as one of our top cheap city breaks.
Short breaks to Aalborg
Situated in North Jutland, Denmark, Aalborg is all about theatre, music, opera and carnival. Aalborg has many museums, a lovely historic quarter but it is also great for the kids with Waterland, Tivoliland and a fabulous Zoo. Then there are of course the galleries, shops and the legendary Jomfru Ane Street, Denmark's longest entertainment strip, with restaurants, bars, clubs and live-music cafés.
