Hilton Hurghada Plaza

Overview

From its fabulous beachfront location overlooking the Red Sea, the Hilton Hurghada Plaza Hotel is the ideal choice for diving and water sports and is just a three minute drive from the centre of Hurghada in Egypt. The Hilton Hurghada Plaza Hotel also has its own marina where you can take a boat trip out into the Red Sea, an area that is world famous for its underwater plant and animal life hidden amongst its coral reefs. The Giftun Island dive spot, 14 miles away is a popular excursion from the hotel marina.

All of the Hilton’s guestrooms offer the usual comforts as well as wireless internet access and a balcony with great sea views. The selection of places to eat and drink onsite will keep even the fussiest eaters happy and there are a plenty of facilities suitable for those who like to keep busy or those who just want to relax in the sun.

There is a large pool with a swim-up bar and spacious terraces furnished with loungers. A separate pool, as well as a kids club and playground will please younger guests whilst the energetic will love the tennis and squash courts, the hotel gym, the five star onsite PADI dive centre and the water sports. The hotel also has its own gift shop, currency exchange facilities and a hairdresser.

Please note that the Hotel will witness excavation and constructions related to an extension project (located on the right hand side of the building) from the 1st of July 2011 until February 2012. During this time there may be some disruption. Separate works will commence in February 2012. Details to be advised at a later stage.

Swimming pools

The hotel has a swimming pool and a children’s pool. The pool has spacious comfortably furnished terraces where you can relax in the sun, a swim up bar and a poolside restaurant.

Eating and drinking

A superb selection of bars and restaurants await your visit at the Hilton Hurghada Plaza Hotel. Enjoy the international buffet at the light and airy Coral Cafe restaurant with its floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Red Sea and the hotel pool. The restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a range of tasty dishes and a nightly themed dinner buffet. Open just for dinner, the La Gondola Restaurant also offers magnificent Red Sea views and fantastic Italian cuisine prepared a la carte in the show kitchen of this formal restaurant. Guests can choose from a menu that includes antipasto, homemade meatballs or pan-seared sea bass with last orders for dinner at 10.30pm. Reservation for the La Gondola Restaurant is required 24 hours in advance. Down on the hotels private beach, with panoramic sea and marina views, the Hilton Plaza’s Beach Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a late continental breakfast, light lunch or an afternoon snack. Relax with a cocktail at sunset whilst relaxing on sofas draped with Oriental rugs out on the terrace. Also on the beach is the open air kiosk bar which conveniently serves refreshing local beers, wines, spirits and even ice cream. If you prefer the pool to the beach you can seek shade under a palm tree on the terrace of the hotels Pool Bar and Restaurant. Sip a cold local beer at the wet bar and after a dip in the Hilton Hurghada Plaza hotel pool, settle down for a la carte grilled dishes for lunch or buffet-style afternoon snacks at the pool restaurant. The popular Bambooti Seafood Restaurant is perfect for a romantic meal where you can pick from the extensive choice of seafood dishes and soak up the ambience with palm-wood furniture, henna-leaf thatch and large windows overlooking the marina. Again, reservation is required 24 hours in advance. The Plaza Bar, located by the hotel lobby, offers a 24-hour drink service where you can grab an early morning coffee, afternoon tea with cake or round off your evening with local beers, spirits or cocktails as a nightcap. If it’s a light lunch, an espresso or a Danish pastry you fancy, take a seat at La Baguette which offers great sandwiches and baguettes and you can also stock up on freshly baked bread and pastries for a picnic. Finally, the Shisha Corner bar offers an authentic Arabic experience seated on low seats and rugs you can enjoy the traditional shisha water pipe, sample Egyptian teas, coffees and local karkade hibiscus juice whilst taking in the views of the sea and beach. As you would expect, room service is available 24 hours a day.

Please note that on 1st October 2010 the hotel is embarking on an extension of 190 new rooms on the right hand side of building, a new swimming pool, 48 new new garen roof chalets and a full renovation. The work will continue until February 2013, please be advised there may be some disruption during this time.
