Overview
The Sol Y Mar Sharks Bay is one of the newest additions to Sharm El Sheikh’s accommodation options. Opened in November 2009, this modern four-star hotel is only five minutes away from Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport and just a short walk from a stretch of some of the finest sandy beaches on the Red Sea coastline. The proximity of Sharks Bay to the Red Sea means guests can go snorkeling or investigate the many PADI diving centres and enter the world of scuba diving.
The main building has a total of 130 rooms, most of which overlook the pool and the pool deck. All rooms are individually air conditioned and have a balcony or terrace, two chairs and a low table, and a bathroom with shower. The hotel offers a variety of restaurants, a lobby bar and terrace, an internet cafe, a shopping arcade, a swimming pool and children's club, 24 hour reception services and a shuttle bus to the nearby beach. The Kids Club runs daily to provide supervised childcare and special programmes for children between the ages of 4 and 12.
The Red Sea around Sharm El Sheikh is world renowned for its astonishing variety of fish and marine life and spectacular, colorful, coral reefs. A variety of other water sports are also available such as windsurfing and kitesurfing or you can explore inland with desert safaris in a 4 X 4 or the traditional way, on the back of a camel! If retail therapy and souvenir hunting is more your sort of thing, you’re sure to find something in the Sol Y Mar Shark’s Bay shopping arcade.
Eating and drinking
The hotel has a main open buffet restaurant, an outdoor a la carte restaurant, a lobby bar, a snack/pool bar and 24-hour room service. The Barracuda Main Restaurant serves a lavish buffet with worldwide favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner whilst the outdoor International and Sea Food a la carte Restaurant serves delicious sea food and international dishes in a romantic setting under the stars. The Dolphins pool-snack bar is great for a quick snack by the pool deck and finally the Marlin Lobby Bar is the ideal place to visit and enjoy your favorite cocktails.
