Action-packed breaks to Universal Orlando

One of the most thrilling attractions in the world, Universal Orlando holidays will reveal you to a world where you take the starring role.

Famed as the theme park capital of the USA, it’s no surprise that the main reason holidaymakers visit Orlando is to enjoy its exciting rides. Experience the movies first-hand as you explore the exciting world of Universal Studios, or continue the action with a trip to the suitably named Islands of Adventure. Whether you’re looking to find yourself strolling through the magical village of Hogsmeade or scaling dizzying heights with Spiderman, holidays to Universal Orlando will offer you the adventure you’re seeking.

Sunshine state

Not including the parks, this area of Florida has plenty of charm of its own. It’s not known as the Sunshine State for nothing – you’ll have an endless dose of Vitamin D to fuel your getaway, so you might want to remember to pack your sun cream in your suitcase!

Deemed as the only authentic working movie studio in the world, there are endless amounts of activities for little ones on holidays in Universal Orlando and what’s more, you’re just a short, convenient journey from discovering the wonders of Disneyworld. Book yourself in one of the many exciting hotels near Universal Studios and you’ll be just a hop, skip and a jump from the magic of Disney – meaning you can divide your time between the non-stop thrill rides of Universal and the enchantment that comes with a trip to Lake Buena Vista.

Jam-packed family getaways

First stop on your holidays to Universal Orlando should be Universal Studios. Putting you at the heart of the action, you’ll have the opportunity to land yourself into your favourite TV shows and films. Visit Springfield to experience The Simpson Ride or battle alongside Optimus Prime in Transformers. The newest attraction sees the world of Harry Potter brought to life, where you can sample delicious Butterbeer and take your very own journey on the Hogwarts Express.

If your little ones are looking to meet their own superheroes, Universal’s Islands of Adventure is the place to be. Perfect for kids in need of an adrenaline boost, they’ll love the hype of the whirling Incredible Hulk Coaster or if they’re feeling especially brave, Doctor Doom’s Fearfall. Afterwards, linger over drinks and seafood at Lombard’s Grille or escape to the rustic tavern of Hogsmeade for pumpkin juice and traditional British fare to refuel.

Of course, if the kids want to cool off from the hot and sunny weather on Universal Orlando holidays, where better to visit than Wet n’ Wild? Blastaway Beach is the largest family water play area in Florida and boasts 160 water cannons, while the Surf Lagoon is the ideal spot for those looking to chase the waves in the sunshine. Whether you want to kick back and relax as you float down the lazy river or embark on a toboggan adventure, this is definitely the go-to destination for those wanting to cool down and revel in the Floridian sun.

The Orlando area of Florida is home to an abundance of excellent beaches, with most of the beaches within easy reach.

Two popular beaches are Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach, both home to white sands and turquoise waters ideal for swimming and soaking up the endless Florida sunshine.

What better way to test the beautiful waters around Florida than with some adrenalin pumping water sports?

Many of the beaches are great for surfers, and there are plenty of opportunities for visitors to try their hand at parasailing, water skiing and jet skiing. Scuba diving and snorkelling are also popular in the clear waters.

Universal Orlando itself is not situated on the beach but the beaches are easily reached from the resort by car.

Any one of the hotels in the resort would be ideal for visitors who want to enjoy the theme parks and don’t mind the drive to the beach. The Loews Royal Pacific Resort has plenty of swimming pools for when you don’t fancy hitting the beach.
