Sun and fun

Florida is often referred to as the Sunshine State, so you’ll have the added bonus of an opportunity to top up your tan on your getaway – remember to pack plenty of sun cream and hats, especially if you’ve got little ones. Stay just outside of Disneyworld and you’ll make a base to discover the wonders of the surrounding areas – head to Kissimmee for fantastic shopping opportunities or visit the idyllic sands of Daytona Beach.

The main attraction of Disneyworld holidays is their versatility, providing something for everyone whatever their tastes. From the futuristic feel of Epcot and jungle-inspired setting of the Animal Kingdom to the whimsical style of Fantasyland, you’ll fall in love with the diverse landscapes and enchanting themes – a trip to Disney is guaranteed to bring out the child in you! But of course, a trip to Disneyworld is incomplete without visiting the nearby Universal Orlando Resort, where you’ll have the opportunity to delve into your favourite films and television shows including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Experience the magic

Holidays in Disneyworld are especially great for fun-filled family trips, with enough to keep both the little, and the big kids entertained. The biggest thrills can be found on some of Disney’s best rollercoasters – blast through the atmosphere in a rocket on Space Mountain, escape the dreaded Yeti on Expedition: Everest, or enjoy the music and adrenaline-inducing ride of the Rock n’ Roller Coaster. If you’d rather cool off from the warm weather, head to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for gushing waterfalls and zooming waterslides – parents can spend their days navigating the lazy river or lingering over tropical cocktails in the poolside bar.

Little ones will find plenty to keep them captivated too, with storytelling rides and character meet and greets capturing the magic. Take a flight across London’s cityscape to Neverland with Peter Pan’s Flight or enjoy the leisurely boat ride of It’s a Small World. Thankfully, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes on-hand to refuel, each offering a range of international cuisines to tantalise your taste-buds. Afterwards it’s well worth heading to Downtown Disney for some entertainment when the sun goes down, accompanied by a glittering firework show over the majestic Lake Buena Vista.
