Choose a ski holiday in Valmeinier and you have a superb choice of slopes and activities on your doorstep. The Valmeinier-Valloire ski area incorporates 150 km of ski runs, with nearly three quarters of the slopes over 2000m altitude. In Valmeinier you will discover a snowpark, half pipe and night skiing. There are 33 lifts covering 85 runs of which 46 are for beginners, 30 red runs and 9 advanced black runs.
Valmeinier is divided into the resort villages of 1500 and 1800 on the east facing slope which are linked by free shuttle bus. The Crey du Quart is on the west facing slope, with Valloire in the next valley.
The Gros Crey and Crey du Quart areas are ideal for free riding skiers and boarders, and instructors and guides are available in Valmeinier to assist in exploring Valmeinier and Valloire.
In Valmeinier 1500 is a smaller traditional village where there are a couple of bars and restaurants, as well as a supermarket and a number of ski/sport shops. Valmeinier 1800 offers a more extensive range of facilities with about 15 restaurants/bars, a deli, pizzeria, supermarkets, ski shops, bakers and more. In Valmeinier 1800 there is also a disco, two cinemas and bowling.
