The wealthy suburb of Versailles is about 11 miles from Paris’ centre and was made famous by the magnificent Chateau de Versailles. Visiting the Chateau can take a couple of days during the summer as you wander round the exquisite rooms in the Versailles castle and explore the beautiful gardens.
