  • Rheinsberg Palace is a dreamy and beautiful palace that sits on a lake and dates back to 1737. It was also home to the Crown Prince, Frederick the Great, who received it as a gift from his father. The regal interiors and carefully designed gardens and lawns will have you in awe. It’s no surprise it’s considered the prettiest castle in the region.
  • Used by National Socialists to keep prisoners during World War II. The Ravensbruck Concentration Camp is believed to have held up to over 130,000 people, mostly women and children. Visit the Ravenbruck Memorial Museum to pay your respects and listen to the sad but sometimes heroic stories about those held inside. For more history, visit the Kurt Tucholsky Literature Museum, where you can learn about the life and works of this great German poet.
  • Take a romantic evening stroll to the Light House, the largest one in Germany. Twenty-two meters high, it’s still in full-working order. It also has an observation deck, where you will have a wonderful view of the surrounding city and water. Afterwards, head to one of the many charming pubs in the area for a glass of wine or three.
  • The popular international Rheinsberg Festival is a yearly summer opera festival, where young talented individuals have the opportunity to showcase their vocal skills. Many established opera groups also travel to Rheinsberg to entertain the crowds. It takes place in the Rheinsberg Palace, and promises an interesting afternoon out.   • A nationally recognized spa town, why not take an afternoon out to relax at one of Rheinsberg’s many spa establishments. After a busy day of sightseeing, have a soak with friends or loved ones with a glass in hand. Another opportunity to relax is a visit to the Stechlin-Ruppin Country Park, which is not too far away. Nature lovers will enjoy exploring and picnicking in this nature park filled with beautiful forests and interesting wildlife.
