  • Garden tourism is becoming increasingly popular, so why not check out the French Gardens during your holiday. This public park is the perfect place for a picnic or afternoon of relaxation and features flowerbeds, lawns and a pond with water feature.
  • No visit to Celle would be complete without visiting Celle Castle. Built in 1378 it’s the oldest building in town and was erected for the Dukes of Braunschweig-Luneberg. It’s an architecturally beautiful building and well worth taking a full day to explore.
  • Art lovers won’t want to miss a trip to the Kunstmuseum. This art gallery exhibits various pieces of contemporary art as well as numerous fascinating sculptures. The museum is famous for the fact it’s open 24 hours a day.
  • The Bomann Museum, located directly opposite the Ducal Palace, is another attraction worth checking out during your holiday to Celle. It’s one of the largest museums of its type in Lower Saxony and covers the history and folklore of the region and Celle itself.
  • Those interested in neo-classical architecture may want to take an hour out of their schedule to visit St. Ludwigs Church, or Ludwigskirche. It’s built in a style reminiscent of the work of famous Berlin architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel and is free to enter and explore.
