• Boppard and the surrounding area have been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the large number of significant Roman buildings in the area. The town is over 2000 years old and has many examples of ancient Roman architecture.
• Bodobrica Castle is an example of a Roman castle, built in 360 AD, and its walls still reach over 9 metres high in some places.
• The Bopparder Hamm wine region in the area around Boppard is one of the best wine regions in Germany and produces some fantastic wines. Why not take a vineyard tour or go wine tasting at the vineyards. If you just want to sample some of the wines then just head to one of the many wine bars in the town that line the promenades looking over the river.
• The natural springs at Bad Salzig, a small nearby town, have been known to have healing properties. The spa facilities are located in the centre of the town and are surrounded by beautiful orchards and gardens, perfect for relaxing.
