The town is filled with ancient sights you can visit, such as the stunning Achillion Palace found in the nearby village of Gastouri. Wandering up the little backstreets of the town you will find the Theotokou Church, as well as some beautiful sights towards the coast from along the hillside. Water sports and diving trips can be taken from the beach, and if you wish to venture further, Corfu Town is just 12 miles away, and Benistes is only four miles away.

The historical culture of Moraitika is found in its ancient sights and attractions that you can visit whilst staying in the town. If you wander towards the harbour you will see the fishermen coming in with their daily catch, something that you can sample in some of the charming restaurants around the resort. For some local Greek cuisine, head to the Minori Taverna, the Madelina Taverna or Kavouria for the very best menus.

During the day you can head to the beach, where not only can you sunbathe and swim, but you can have a go at some of the water sports on offer, from diving and snorkelling to boat trips and wind surfing. The roman remains are great for couples who are seeking some culture, and the local shops are well known for their jewellery and olive wood sculptures. The town’s notorious taverna strip is a kilometre of bars, clubs and restaurants, so you won’t be short of entertainment in the evening.

There are plenty of choices when it comes to eating and drinking in the town, with a number of restaurants and tavernas serving local cuisine, such as the Madelina Taverna, the Minori Taverna and Kavouria and the beautiful Rose Garden. Some of the best bars include Billyys Bar, Harry and George, Rainbow and Charlie’s bar, all of which welcome both the locals and the tourists. The Verrycoco club is great for some night time dancing, but for a livelier night life, head to the nearby Corfu Town.

Couples who are looking to treat themselves will find the Miramare Hotel is ideal for just that. Sitting around 400 metres from the resort centre, it enjoys peaceful surrounds, and offers complete privacy in its one and two floor apartments. Surrounded by a beautiful olive grove and stunning gardens, boasting a Turkish bath, private beach and swimming pools, it’s the ideal escape for anyone on a romantic break.

The adventurous will find a wealth of things to keep them busy whilst on holiday in Moraitika. From the beach you can try a number of water sports, such as snorkelling, jet skiing, wind surfing and water skiing, or you take a boat trip. You can explore the surrounding landscape on a hiking trip, visit some of the sights the town offers, or venture towards some of the neighbouring villages to get a taste for the region’s culture.

Take a short drive away from Moraitika and you can visit places such as the stunning Lake Korission, a nature reserve filled with wildlife and birds, or the Lefkimmi salt pans, where you will also see a range of birds. Aqualand is also found nearby, and is a great place for those who wish to spend a day sliding down some water rides and chilling out in the sun.

The nightlife is friendly and lively, with a range of restaurants, bars and tavernas to choose from. You can sample some local Greek cuisine in the Kavouria restaurant, in the Minori Tavern, the Rose Garden and the Madelina Tavern. Drinks can be enjoyed from Charlie’s bar, Harry and George and the Rainbow Bar. Some more lively nights can be spent at the Verrycoco club, but Corfu Town is nearby if you’re looking for some more dynamic nights.
