The small traditional town of Analipsis rests roughly 24 kilometres from Heraklion and is a stones throw from the harbour of Hersónisos. It has been relatively untouched by tourism, and as such has retained a strong sense of culture. The small traditional town of Analipsis rests roughly 24 kilometres from Heraklion and is a stones throw from the harbour of Hersónisos. It has been relatively untouched by tourism, and as such has retained a strong sense of culture. Walking down its streets, you will probably pass a few Greek women sitting with their needlework, and hear the locals shout “Kalimera” – good morning! With its friendly atmosphere and closeness to the sea, Analipsi is a perfect place for a beach holiday.
The beachfront of Analipsis stretches across the whole edge of town, although be careful on the western side because its rocky! As you head to the east, there are many comfortable sandy coves away from the wind where the waves lap lazily up to the beach. If you continue walking, you will come across the beautiful beaches of Kokkini Hani, Gouves and Anissaras. After a spell of sunbathing or swimming, you can stroll through the narrow streets up to the square. As you walk up the promenade, there are countless cosy tavernas and restaurants, offering a refreshing drink or a delicious meal with a view out to the crystal clear Aegean sea.
Although the resort is less lively than its neighbours, there are still plenty of things to do to keep everyone happy such as a visit to the Aquaplus or Star Beach waterparks. With their various slides, chutes, tunnels and pools, they are fun for the whole family! If you are on holiday in Analipsis with a special someone, you can treat them to a romantic moonlight cruise around the reefs of Hersónisos, on boats that have glass bottoms for breathtaking underwater views! The harbour of Hersónisos is only 5 minutes away, and offers an active nightlife where you can dance until dawn in one of the many bars and clubs! All in all, the town of Analipsis offers a slow and peaceful stay making for an unforgettable beach holiday.
If you are planning your next getaway in the sun, look no further than holidays to Analipsis. With cheap flights and a fantastic range of accommodation you could soon be relaxing in the sun on a cheap holiday to Analipsis.
A holiday to Analipsi is great for the whole family. You'll never be bored of things to when in Crete. Visit the water park Acqua Plus, which has a number of water rides including slides, and a lazy river. The Lychnostatis Museum is also another great attraction – it's an open air museum...

The Lychnostatis Museum is also another great attraction – it's an open air museum celebrating Greek culture.
There's a loads to keep the family occupied on an Analipsi holiday. Take a jeep safari across the island, or try your hand at water sports on the beach. You could also try some peaceful fishing on the rocky beaches.
There is plenty of fresh seafood on offer in all the local restaurants, but for the fussiest eaters there is international cuisine on offer. The nightlife in Analipsi is fairly laid back, but most hotels have an extensive entertainment programme.
The Hotel Golden Star is on the sea front, and has loads of sport facilities on site. There is also a children's playground and swimming pool on site, plus the hotel has an all-inclusive option which makes dining easier for families.

Analipsi is a great holiday resort as it is a quiet Cretan town full of locals. It's a good base to explore the rest of Crete – Gouves, Hersonisos, and the lively town of Malia is only 13km away.
There are loads to keep couples occupied on a romantic Crete holiday. Visit one of the many golf courses in the area for a round, go diving in the calm waters, or even try horse riding across the beach for a memorable and romantic experience.
There are a number of traditional restaurants in the area, which are perfect for a quiet evening together; however the village is also close to Malia which has a very vibrant nightlife scene, with many clubs and bars.
Stella Palace is a luxury hotel with modern facilities, and boasts a huge swimming pool, as well as relaxing facilities. The hotel also boasts its own private beach.
Analipsi sandy beach, however there is a rocky part to the west of the beach. There is year-round sunshine at this resort, and the beach is well organised with umbrellas and loungers. It also gets enough wind for surfing.
Take a glass bottom boat tour around the Blue Flag coast, or simply go sunbathing or swimming. There is also plenty of opportunities to try thrilling water sports including jet skiing or wind surfing.
Analipsi has a long stretch of sandy beach surrounded by rocky coves; however there are plenty of other sandy beaches nearby if you fancy a change. The beach itself is also very quiet which makes it perfect for finding your own spot and doing your own thing.

Analipsi is close to many other major resorts including Heraklion, which is the capital of Crete and full of culture; Agios Nikolaos, which boasts ancient ruins in the town; and Malia, which also has a rich history but also has a great nightlife.
Go hiking in Aposelemis Gorge, where you can see many interesting features on the trek up to the gorge including old aqueducts, and village ruins.
There are lots of religious festivals which take place throughout the year – many countries in Europe celebrate saints days very seriously. Usually the whole town will go on a procession through the village and there will be a fiesta on the beach.
