The 3 star complex is situated on a hill not far from the old town of Malia offering far reaching views of the nearby ocean and the lively resorts of Stalis and Malia that can be seen below. This family run complex offers a peaceful and scenic alternative to the typical tourist crowd and noise, with its extensive gardens and surrounded by lush green fields and local wildlife.

Within the complex there are 22 studios and apartments and a selection of comforts and services available to help make your stay an enjoyable one; you can find a large outdoor pool in the centre of the complex, there is also a restaurant onsite to provide you with a local alternative for when you don’t feel like self-catering. Families and children are also well catered for with children’s cots available on request and a 9 hole mini golf course, which is fun for the whole family. If you are looking to relax inside then there is the poolside bar or the TV lounge.

Nearby you can find a supermarket to help provide you for all your self-catering needs and the Malia beach can be enjoyed just down the hill the resort resides on 1.2km away. The nearby old town of Malia is a very traditional village that makes for a picturesque day out with its small twisting streets leading you to unexpected places with its old churches and local restaurants.

Swimming pools

Large beautiful outdoor pool located in the centre of the complex featuring a sun terrace, complimented by the poolside bar and plenty of loungers and parasols free of charge.

Eating and drinking

Guests staying at the Villa Mare Monte are invited to use the self-catering facilities if they wish for a more convenient holiday, the nearest supermarket for supplies can be found 700m away.

Those looking for an alternative to self-catering may visit the restaurant onsite that is available for breakfast and dinner (payable locally) or you could simply visit the nearby town of Malia and explore the many restaurants and bars nearby.

It is also definitely worth mentioning that each week the Villa Mare Monte hosts a special BBQ event, which all guests are invited to join. Where for a small fee can enjoy almost all you eat of delicious salads and BBQ meat.

There is also the poolside bar that makes for a good place to buy cocktails and other refreshing drinks as well as light meals.

Accommodation

The Villa Monte Mare Studios and Apartments feature 22 individual villa style buildings with 2 floors and 3 types of accommodation available.

All of the studios and apartments come well equipped for self-catering with a kitchenette area that includes 2 electric rings for cooking and a fridge.

Studio – For up to 3 people with 2 single beds

One bedroom apartment – Sleeps up to 4 people and comes with a separate bedroom area with a double or 2 single beds and a living area with 2 sofa beds.

Two bedroom apartment – as the name applies, same as the one bedroom apartments but with an additional area with 2 more single beds, can accommodate up to 6 people.

Within each apartment or studio you can expect to find amenities and facilities including: en suite bathroom with WC and shower, air conditioning, hairdryer and a telephone.
