Karavados is a small village of tiny streets winding around the main through road running between Kefalonia’s capital Argostoli 14 km away and St Thomas. There are a couple of small tavernas and a very small supermarket in Karavados, and an area of pine covered mountain drops down to St George’s small beach.
A peaceful location, it is so easy to travel to the many neighbouring villages and coastal resorts throughout Kefalonia from Karavados, by hiring a car. Trapezaki has a few more tavernas and restaurants as well as a small beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, but a short drive south to Skala or Mounda will appeal to those looking for wider expanses of sand.
