- Shani Shingapur is a holy place near to Shirdi and is famous for its temple of Lord Shani. A new Sai Garden is currently being planned based on the life and teachings of Shri Sai Baba, who lived in the region during the 19th Century and who is regarded by Muslims and Hindus as a saint. Ajanta and Ellora Caves in Aurangabad date from the 2nd century and show a range of paintings and sculptures, which are considered to be masterpieces of Buddhist art. They are a UNESCO world heritage site.
- Best known as the home of Uspani Maharaj, a Hindu guru, Sakori is a small village just outside Shirdi which makes for a interesting day trip. Shani Singhnapur is another small village. One of its unique features is the houses that have no doors, as the people believe it is the kindness of the presiding deity that prevents crimes from being committed.
- Nearby Nashik is known as the ‘Wine Capital of India’ and is the fastest growing city in the region. It is home to a large range of vineyards and orchards, which is a great place to visit.
- Ramnavani, Gurupurnima and Shirdi Vijayadashmi are all local festivals which celebrate a range of religious and cultural events in Shirdi. Colourful, vibrant and dynamic, they are a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture.
