Astoria Hotel Goa

Overview

Set in the beautiful and peaceful emerald valley of Assagoa you will find the Astoria hotel. This family run and owned property is comprised of the main building that is a 200 year old Portuguese mansion that has been carefully maintained by its family owners.

The 20 rooms of the hotel are to be found in a more recently built modern extension in a similar style of the main building.

Guests staying at the hotel will notice one of its unique features, the gardens where all the spices and fruit used in the dishes prepared by its multi-cuisine restaurant are grown.

Guests are free to walk around the gardens to see the many uncommon flowers on display such as the fig tree that grows by the front of the hotel.

Daily activities provided by the hotel include a recently set-up yoga and meditation program that guests can join at their leisure; there are also Goan cuisine classes, a sight-seeing itinerary and even a small Goan antique museum as part of the mansion. During some evenings you can also listen to the live music from traditional brass or electronic bands, that remind you of years gone past.

The locally grown spices and fruits from the hotel’s garden are used to add flavour for truly tasty dishes.
