  • Explore Jodhpur

    • The largest fort in Rajasthan, the impressive Mehrangarh Fort is a dominant site in the city and one of its biggest attractions. First build in the 15th century, it is surrounded by nearly 3km of ramparts. The fort is made up of a number of temples and palaces, such as the pearl-coloured Moti Mahal, and the beautiful Chamunda Mataji Temple. Tours are available to make sure you see all the sights.

    Why a Holiday to Jodhpur?

    • Jodhpur has an endless supply of fascinating sites, temples, museums and gardens waiting to be explored and enjoyed. Worth a visit is the stunning Umaid Bhawan Palace, where the Maharaja of Jodhpur lives. To head out of the hot city and find a tranquil spot to relax, visit the beautiful Kailana Lake, which provides most of the city’s drinking water.
    • The big, busy and extremely bustling Sardar Market is a typical market in India that is a pretty exciting, if overwhelming place to see. Wander around and get used to the sights and smells before you dive in for some gifts and souvenirs. From clothes to crafts and food, there are all sorts of goods to take home.
    • You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to sampling the delicious local cuisine. Stop at any local restaurant for some authentic Rajasthan dishes. As well as curries and rice dishes, look out for Jodhpur’s own traditional sweets as well as lassi, the signature drink of the area, a yoghurt-based concoction that is a refreshing choice on hot afternoons.
    • For another fabulous destination in 2012, our experts also recommend Goa to soak up the Indian sun and culture at great prices.
