Deep Sea Fishing

It’d be a crime to not get involved in a spot of deep sea fishing whilst on holiday in Mauritius considering the beautiful seas that surround the island. This can be as extreme or as relaxing as you like – either on boat with a chilled bottle of beer or really going for it to get the best catch of the day. Le Morne is one of the best locations for deep sea fishing as well as Trou aux Biches in the North of the island.

Swimming with Dolphins

There are several areas where dolphins have chosen the seas as their natural habitat so you’ll be sure to encounter these amazing creatures. Tamarin Bay is the perfect location for a spot of dolphin swimming and you’ll be able to see them in the morning or late afternoon.


There are a couple of different locations in Mauritius to go to if you fancy a safari. The Mauritius Safari and Bird Park is a great trip for young and old alike – a mixture of a zoo, sanctuary park and a real life safari in Yemen Natural Reserve park where you’ll find animals in their natural habitat.

There are hundreds of beaches to choose from in Mauritius – for families head to the La Preneuse as the waters are shallow or for a place a bit quieter travel to La Cuvette – a small bay where you’ll be sure to find a bit of peace and quiet.

Mauritius Nightlife


Most of the bars and clubs are found in Grand Baie which is the main tourist area of the island. The nights start young in Mauritius but go along a lot longer than in the UK to remember to pace yourself so you can keep going until the early hours! Stay at the Baystone Boutique Hotel & Spa for a chance to unwind after a night out by taking to the spa or relaxing on nearby Grand Bay Beach.


Grand Baie and the Flic-en-Flac are the two key locations to visit if you want to go clubbing on holiday in Mauritius – the other areas of the island tend to be a bit quieter in comparison. Clubs open late, which means you’ll have plenty of time to get merry in the bars before you start to dance the night away. If you’ve not had enough of the water during the day try one of the night pool parties!


There isn’t a lot of live entertainment in Mauritius and what there is, is often found in the English themed bars and pubs around the island. That said there are plenty of bars where you’ll be able to enjoy the traditional reggae music of this enchanting island.
