Nusa Lembongan at a Glance
Nusa Lembongan is a beautiful island just off Bali’s South Eastern shores. It is home to wonderful beaches such as the aptly named Dream Beach and Sandy Bay. The island is a popular beach spot, home to spectacular sunsets that wash the sky in a dreamy orange glow, while beneath there is the lush Mangrove forest and a selection of grand Hindu temples.
Ideal For...
- Couples in search of a romantic island getaway.
- Groups who want a picture perfect beach holiday not far away from the action packed Bali.
Explore Nusa Lembongan
The island is a great pull for anyone visiting Bali due to it’s easy to get to location, but also for it’s wonderful natural beauty. Nusa Lembongan doesn’t see the hawkers famed on Bali’s beaches, and much of its sandy coastline is tranquil and idyllic perfect for those just wanting to laze away the hours, basking in the sun. It also offers great diving spots and a couple of the beaches are popular surfing destinations. Similarly Sanur Beach also offers the opportunity for a beautiful Bali beach holiday.
Why a Nusa Lembongan Holiday?
- For those wanting a little bit of adventure, then a day trip to the close by island of Nusa Ceningan is a must. Not for the island, but for the Indiana Jones-esque suspension bridge which links the two islands. But once on the island it is a quiet and virtually untouched slice of paradise in Indonesia. There are nature trails for walkers and less crowded beaches for those in search of clear blue seas and warming white beaches without the crowds found elsewhere.
- Spend a day doing nothing on the secluded Dream beach, where once you’ve finished sunbathing you can get a drink in the cafe and take in the sun drenched island vistas. The other popular beach on the island is Sandy Bay or Sunset beach, where at low tide you can marvel at the dramatic uncovering of a limestone cave on the eastern side of the bay.
- Attend one of the islands diving schools and marvel at the underwater kingdom at one of the many dive spots. The waters are crystal clear and home to large manta rays, white tipped reef sharks and hammerhead sharks to name but a few. For those not wanting to brave the full diving experience there are also a few fantastic snorkeling spots both close to shore and further out to sea which offer beautiful coral and plenty of fish to keep you interested.
- Why not take a walk over the low cliffs and coasts of the island. Explore the coves close to Sunset beach, and from the cliffs pause to see right across to the island of Bali. Or if you prefer to, why not hire a bike to explore the island and perhaps Nusa Ceningan, too?
- Perfect for relaxation, along with the islands beaches and coves there are numerous spa facilities. Here you can luxuriate in a mix of local and international spa treatments. Mushroom spa offers fantastic treatments alongside beautiful views out to the clear waters of Sanghyang bay.
