Explore Uluwatu

Uluwatu is a dream like Bali destination with rugged natural cliffs, cascading hills, hidden caves and pure white sands. There is truly not a better place in the world more suited to a holiday of a lifetime than here.

Why a Uluwatu Holiday?

  • Culture comes in abundance on a holiday in Uluwatu, as it boasts the Pura Uluwatu, one of Bali’s oldest temples. It clings to the edge of the limestone cliff, towering 70 meters above the energetic waves of the Indian Ocean. Steep cliff sides tail off either side of the temple, and it is as much the setting as the building itself that fascinates its visitors. With a truly outstanding sunset, it is worth seeing the temple as night falls, although there are a few cheeky little monkeys that you should be cautious of. They live around the temple and although they offer some unique interactions, they are extremley mischievous, so tuck any belongings well away.
  • If you are still at the temple between 6pm and 7pm, you can catch a glimpse of the Kecak Dance, a primate inspired performance from the locals that is quite spectacular to see.
  • There are a number of beautiful beaches in Uluwatu, with pure white sands that lead through hidden coves and rock formations. They are considered to be some of the best beaches in Bali and as they do not suffer from overcrowding, they are perfect for some peaceful, lazy days.
  • If you would like something more adventurous, Uluwatu is a favoured spot for advanced and expert surfers. Whether you choose to brave the waters or just watch some of the pros, you won’t get water like this in many other places.
  • If you can bear to tear yourself away from this striking resort the towns of Kuta and Jimbaran are not far away. Kuta is a lively resort town, with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and beachside cafes to keep visitors entertained. Jimbaran is the quieter of the two, but has seen a fair amount of development since its sleepy fishing village beginnings. You can sample some of the best local seafood along one of the bay’s beach restaurants, as you watch the sun set over the ocean.
