Overview
The Grand Hotel Baglioni is in the historical centre of Florence just 300 metres from Santa Maria Novella railway station and a few minutes' walk from the Fortezza Da Basso (Exhibition Hall), the Congress Centre and the most important museums and monuments such as the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. The hotel was originally the residence of the Carrega Bertolini noble family before the imposing building was turned into a hotel in 1903 making it the oldest hotel in Florence. Today, the hotel has 193 guestrooms, all of which have recently been renovated and refurbished. They feature wood beam ceilings, original leaded panes and are decorated in traditional Tuscan style with parquet floors, mahogany furniture and Florentine ceramics.
