Beaches in Italian Lakes
There are a number of lakeside beaches around Lake Maggiore to enjoy whilst on holiday here, where a vast range of water sports are on offer, including water skiing, fishing, sailing and swimming.
Walk for about 15 minutes out of Sirmione for the best beach on the southern coast of Lake Garda, whilst on the east coast, Punta San Vigilo beach benefits from longer sun exposure than the western coast, where there are a number of good beaches around the Parco Naturale in Moniga.

Animals roam free in the park at Villa Pallavicino near Stressa, on Lake Como. The Roman town of Como, has many beautiful churches and fabulous walks. Near Como is Cernobbio, home to the Park of Villa d’Este built in the 16th century and “The Bears Hole” or Buco dell’ Orso which is reached from Laglio. Garda’s Sirmione has been described as the “pearl of all islands and peninsulas”, as its picturesque streets are lined with elegant shops and the architecture is fascinating.
