Bellagio is located where at the intersection where the lake divides into three “arms”. The town’s historic centre is called the “Borgo” and is from here that Bellagio is a delight to explore, with some of the best views of Lake Como from the hillside above.
The St James’ Basilica is one of the best examples of the Lombard-Romanesque style architecture, built in the 11th and 12th century and was declared a National Monument in the early 19th century. The Villa Serbelloni is a conference and study centre, with grounds covering a large area of the promontory where guided tours may be taken Tuesday to Sunday, weather permitting.
