With value for money driving holiday choices more than ever, lowcostholidays.com, one of the top 10 UK travel websites, has seen a sharp increase in holiday bookings this January on their website which are up 60% compared to last year.
“More and more people are turning online to book their holidays where they can make great savings compared to some of the more traditional holiday operators,” said Matt Hall, Deputy MD at lowcostholidays.com. “Sales per day this month are running at record levels with holidaymakers clearly taking advantage of some amazing prices,” added Hall.
With Spain revealed as the cheapest destination in Europe in the latest Post Office Travel Money Report with prices 40% lower than five year ago, it’s no surprise that searches across all Spanish destinations are up 62% year on year. The top destination keywords being used on the site are all Spanish destinations including Tenerife, Ibiza, the Canaries and Lanzarote.
lowcostholidays.com has also seen an increase in online bookings from families for holidays this year as a result of greater confidence in booking a holiday online with family holidays up 45% year on year.
The latest prices from lowcostholidays.com show a 7 night holiday for 2 adults and 2 children in Costa Dorada at the 3 star Hotel Villa Dorada on a self-catering basis from just £150 per person at the end of July including flights from Luton.
