Lanzarote Beaches

These long stretches of golden sands have plenty of sun loungers to soak up the year round Canarian sun, where ice cream vendors bring the ice cream to you! If you do feel the need to move from your spot then you will find that the promenades that back the beach have a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as toilets and showers.

There are a range of water sports available here the gentle waves lending themselves perfectly to beginner surfers. Wind surfing is also popular here, with a choice of schools and places to hire equipment. You can explore the underwater world by snorkelling or scuba diving and see the fascinating marine life.

The Hotel Blue Sea Los Fiscos is in the old town of Puerto del Carmen and is only 900m from the beach. It is at the top of a hill so has great views of the Atlantic and surrounding area. It is also only a 15 minute transfer from the airport, great of you are travelling with little ones.

Head to the Papagayo beaches, often thought of as the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote. These small beaches are separated by sand dunes and are the perfect place to head for a quiet day at the beach. They are in a protected area and access is from a small dirt track, there are limited facilities here so make sure that you take everything that you will need for the day with you.

The promenade behind Playa Blanca is lined with restaurants, bars and cafes, perfect for hiding from the midday sun and sipping a refreshing cool drink, looking out over the beach. The nearby Rubicon Marina has some excellent restaurants for an evening meal whilst watching the sun set.

The Hotel Blue Sea Corbeta is a four star complex set within tropical gardens that is close to Playa Flamingo, one of the most popular beaches in Playa Blanca. There is a regular bus service that runs from the hotel to the beaches and resort centre.

This is the longest beach on Lanzarote, at 3km long there are a few shops and cafes here to cater for the large surf community. There are a couple of seafood restaurants here, but if it is nightlife you are looking for then you should look to Puerto del Carmen or the resorts in the south.

Lanzarote is known as the Hawaii of Europe because of the quality of the surf here. There are regular surf competitions held here and there are schools and shops to cater for all abilities.

The Blue Sea Kontiki Club Apartments are just 50m from the beach in Puerto del Carmen and a short drive away from Famara. Here, you will find a range of shops, bars and restaurants for relaxing after a long day at the beach.
