The Dom Pedro Baia Hotel is overlooking the beach of Machico Bay and a short walk from the picturesque and historic fishing village of Machico. The village was the place the original explorers first set foot on Madeira. Swimming pools

The outdoor pool is heated to 75 Fahrenheit, and is surrounded by greenery and exotic trees. From the sunloungers around the pool there are views towards the mountainous peninsula of Sao Lourenco. There is a separate pool for children. In addition there is a large sun terrace for a quieter place to enjoy the outdoors.

Eating and drinking

The hotel has a comfortable piano bar , ideal for that post dinner soiree. The attractive restaurant serves international cuisine. There is also a bar next to the pool area. Look out for the all-inclusive option. CHRISTMAS EVE AND NEW YEARS EVE GALA MEALS INCLUDED

MEALS: All meals included in a buffet style and snacks are available between 11.00 - 11.30 and 17.00 - 18.00 at the pool or piano bar. Ice cream is also served between 16.00 - 17.00 daily.

BEVERAGES: Drinks available from 10.00 - 00.00 are; mineral water, soft drinks, hot drinks, local selected wines, local beer, local hard liquors and cocktails.

SPORTS AND LEISURE: Volley ball, Badminton, Tennis, Pétanque and Ping Pong and once a week an introduction to scuba diving in the pool are all available with reservation.
