The beach at Marsalforn has a pretty sandy area at the head of the bay which can get quite busy.

There’s great swimming and less crowds towards the rocky area in the west. The romantic coves here are perfect for relaxing by the sea, and the rugged coastline makes it brilliant for snorkelling and diving.

If you want to feel the sand under your toes, there is the gorgeous Ramla Bay beach a couple of kilometres east of Marsalforn. Ramla Bay is one of the few naturally sandy beaches in Gozo and is famous for its soft red sands, crystal blue waters and the statue of the Virgin Mary right in the middle of the beach!

For a day out together, cross the island to find the Azure window on the west coast. This famous landmark is a great place to visit before exploring Dwejra’s Inland Sea, Fungus Rock and the charming Chapel of St Anne.

Marsalforn nightlife is relaxed with a number of restaurants and hotels open in the warm summer evenings for a delicious meal or refreshing drink.

The La Trattoria is a great restaurant for a fun evening meal. It serves up wonderfully fresh fish platters and seafood.

For something really special, head to the Restaurant Ta’Frenc. It’s housed in a beautiful converted farmhouse, 1.5km south of Marsalforn. Try traditional Maltese meals influenced with French and Italian cuisines, such as rack of lamb, ravioli and fish soups. There’s also a fantastic wine menu to try together.

For a lively night out head to La Grotta nightclub in the nearby town of Xlendi.

Take a free ferry transfer from Marsalforn to Mgarr Harbour. Mgarr has a small beach to relax on, but the dock area with the fishing boats and yachts is a great place to explore on a Gozo holidays.

Gozo is home to some of the world’s best scuba diving sites including the Azure Window, Fungus Rock, the Blue Lagoon on Comino Island and many more.

There are dive sites all around Gozo Island, but Marsalforn is fast becoming the best place for diving centres on Gozo.

You can grab a water taxi to Comino and explore the entire island by island on foot, or the areas near to San Lawrenz and the San Blas Valley in Gozo boast extraordinary views and terrain for rambling.
