If you are taking up the offer of one of lowcostholidays.com's cheap Chihuahua holidays, but aren't sure what the best attractions are in Chihuahua, then look no further than our tips below. Whether you are travelling as a couple, family or group of friends, we have recommendations for you.

Chihuahua Activities:

  • Turn up to the Feria (Fair) of Santa Rita, held annually during the last two weeks of May, and featuring live performances from internationally-renowned recording artists.

  • If you like a bit of cowboy culture to your Chihuahua holidays, then check out the Country Festival in August, where country music is played and mechanical rides are on offer.

  • The local government is encouraging holidays to Chihuahua which encompass the breathtaking mountains and rivers surrounding the city - and you won't hesitate to take them up on the offer, with the Adventure Tourism Festival one of the great events held.

  • Looking for good-quality cowboy boots, in any colour you wish? You won't find many better places to buy them than... well, almost everywhere during holidays to Chihuahua.

Chihuahua Nightlife:

  • For party-mad Chihuahua holidays, head for the city centre, especially the pre-revolutionary estate houses since converted into nightclubs and dance halls, where live bands often play.

  • Music playing in the many small bars and clubs often includes pop and rock music, plus traditional Latin tunes.

  • Watch out for the parties which take place during Mexican holidays, like Mexican Independence Day on September 16. Here, you can often dance and drink to live Mariachi music for truly intoxicating holidays to Chihuahua.

  • Many hotels also host public parties in their bars and lobbies - ask at your own hotel to see what they are planning.

Popular Attractions on Holidays to Chihuahua:

  • Remnants of the 19th and 20th centuries include the Temple of San Francisco, the original burial place of Fr Miguel Hidalgo, and the Federal Palace of Chihuahua, the location of Hidalgo's jail cell, but since converted into a museum.

  • The Museo Casa Juarez, otherwise known as The Museum of the Republican Loyalty, is also worth a visit during holidays to Chihuahua, and has been restored to its condition when Mexican Republican president Benito Juarez Garcia lived here between 1864-66.

  • A more relaxing location for family-friendly Chihuahua holidays is Plaza Mayor, a crucial city square decorated with fountains, green spaces and monuments depicting local heroes. The most significant monument, the Ángel de el Libertad, celebrates the freedom of all Mexicans.
