The medium size rooms are all decorated to a very high standard, with a blue and gold colour scheme. All have a writing desk. The bathrooms are in beige and a little dated but they are in very good condition, as are the bedrooms in general.
The restaurant is in the style of a brasserie with wooden floors and tables. It offers a high standard of food at reasonable prices. There is also a small garden where one can have lunch or dinner, weather permitting. This restaurant also serves breakfast.
It is a modern, fairly low-rise building in keeping with its surrounds.
The large lobby has a marble floor with a Grand staircase and has the feel of a deluxe, city centre hotel. There is also a large lounge which has a conservatory style extension where one can have a drink or a light snack located off the lobby. The style is quite English with comfortable armchairs with a floral design.
Whilst Amsterdam is an amazing cosmopolitan city, there is much more to see of the Netherlands and the area surrounding Amsterdam.
Just a short trip from Amsterdam city is the seaside resort of Zandvoort which boasts a long sandy beach backed by grassy dunes, with a nudist beach about 2 km south. Zandvoort is home to the Netherland’s main car racing track Circuit Park Zandvoort.
Het Gooi is an area of Hilversum where the rich and famous live. On the edges of Lake Gooi, Het Gooi is thought of as hilly but that is only because the rest of the country is below sea level and Het Gooi’s highest point is 36.4m! Wooded and green Het Gooi is a perfect base for exploring the Netherland’s countryside.
To explore castles and the Chateau au Marquette why not stay at a hotel near to Heemskerk, with a sandy beach a short walk away.
