Overview

A good hotel which is close enough to Amsterdam to be considered when Amsterdam is full. However, Naarden itself comes highly recommended and merits a visit in itself in which case this hotel has the perfect location.

09/08NN

Location

Located in the area known as the garden of Amsterdam, the hotel is situated close to the A1 which goes to Amsterdam. Naarden itself is one of the best preserved fortress towns in Europe.

Distance

19 kms to city centre

35 kms to the nearest airport (schiphol)

4 km to the nearest station (naarden-bussum)

1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop

20 km to the nearest fair site (rai)

Rooms

The bedrooms are all medium sized, in good condition, and are decorated predominantly in blues and with wood furniture. The bathrooms are also in good condition with white tiling throughout.

Restaurant

There is a very large restaurant with a separate breakfast room. The restaurant is brasserie style and is open every day for lunch and dinner, and in good weather, there is a lovely terrace where one can eat.

Exterior

An attractive, modern hotel with ample parking spaces.

Lobby

The lobby is medium sized, and a little dated but pleasant enough and with direct access to the bar, which is connected also to the brasserie.

Whilst Amsterdam is an amazing cosmopolitan city, there is much more to see of the Netherlands and the area surrounding Amsterdam.

Just a short trip from Amsterdam city is the seaside resort of Zandvoort which boasts a long sandy beach backed by grassy dunes, with a nudist beach about 2 km south. Zandvoort is home to the Netherland’s main car racing track Circuit Park Zandvoort.

Het Gooi is an area of Hilversum where the rich and famous live. On the edges of Lake Gooi, Het Gooi is thought of as hilly but that is only because the rest of the country is below sea level and Het Gooi’s highest point is 36.4m! Wooded and green Het Gooi is a perfect base for exploring the Netherland’s countryside.

To explore castles and the Chateau au Marquette why not stay at a hotel near to Heemskerk, with a sandy beach a short walk away.
