  • Each winter, large families of Orca whale gather in the fjords around Narvik to feed on the fish which have arrived in November. Between November and the middle of January, Orca safari's are available and a wonderful opportunity to get up close to these magnificent creatures.
  • Narvik is one of the few towns in Norway which can claim to have a rock carving in the centre of town. The carving at Brennholtet, around 700 metres from the town centre, gives an insight into the hunting techniques used by the first generations of Norway. The carvings are estimated to be 5000 years old.
  • The Aurora Borealis, also called the Northern Lights, is only visible in the northern sky from the northern hemisphere. It can be seen from the city of Narvik from the months of September to March, and is a sight not to be missed.
