  • In 1671, the original site of Panama City was destroyed by an attack from English pirate Henry Morgan. Now a picturesque ruin, a tour around Panama Viejo is a great activity for a day out. There is a museum here which explores the history of the original city, with exhibits from excavations that are still taking place.
  • Casco Viejo dates back to the 17th century, and numerous historical buildings can be seen here. Visitors are drawn to it's cobbled streets to admire the old churches and convents, and enjoy the charming cafes and shops that have now opened in this district.
  • As a centre for international trade, the modern Panama City has a fast-paced business district, which is also full of fine restaurants and a lively nightlife. If you fancy dining out in one of the city's up-market restaurants, then this area is the perfect choice.
